Alba Fernández: “Teaching philosophy is my dream job”

The new teacher of philosophy joins the group of teachers of Centre Escolar Empordà saying that her dream has become true

Alba Fernández lives in Palafrugell, and this is her first year at Centre Escolar Empordà.

–What did you have to study to be a philosophy teacher?

At primary school I studied  at a school named  Barceló i Mantes, at middle school I studied at Baix Empordà,And finished high school at the same school . I have a màster on teaching skills ,And studied at the university of Valencia.

–Which subjects do you do at school?

I am a teacher at the high school in CEE. I teach Catalan and English at level 12 and abilities for life at level 10. 

–Why did you choose to work here? 

I decided to work here because it brought me an opportunity to do what I most wanted: teaching philosophy.

–Why have you chosen this high school?

For me, working in a high school is an important stage. Finishing high school is what will determine your future. 

–Did the students make your entrance to this school difficult?

Both the students and teachers gave me a warm welcome and made me feel like at home.
